UMS School-Wide Reward

We did it!!!!!  The entire school successfully filled all 3 boxes with Champ Bands that all we earned by being safe, being kind, and doing our best!!  Mr. Antonicci surprised us with lunch outside on Friday! It was a gorgeous day and everyone had a blast!  Superintendent Minor even joined us!!

Guided Bus Discovery with Mrs. McCleary

This past week, Mrs. McCleary came into Room 9 and talked about expectations for the bus.  We talked about all of the safety features that are on the bus and what they are used for. We talked about walking safely by a bus, looking at the driver and making sure it is safe to cross the street. We also talked about how to sit and behave on the bus. After a short presentation, we were able to take a 5 minute bus ride through a neighborhood just to practice the skills that we talked about. Everyone did a fabulous job and we had fun! Here are some pictures from out adventure!

Positive Behavior Intervention - PBIS

Today, we started a new behavior program at UMS. (The other 2 elementary schools in the district already use this program)  Every time that a student shows understanding of a school rule, they earn a Champ Band bracelet to put in our class collection jar.  The school rules that the students need to know are Be Safe, Be Kind, and Do Your Best.  We've had a super fun day in Room 9 learning about this new initiative and earning Champ Bands!!  Ask your child all about it!!  Here are some pictures from our day!

This balloon is to remind students that everyone in Room 9 is special!

Here are the Champ Bands ready for room 9!

I started my day with 20 Champ Bands on my wrist but I ended giving out 35 bands before lunch!!

Look at all of the Champ Bands that some kiddos have earned!!

We had to earn enough Champ Bands to reach the tape in order to earn an extra recess or free time this afternoon.  We reached out goal by lunchtime!! Way to go Room 9!!
